This policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on the Kodesto website, and how you can manage them.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognize your preferences and improve your browsing experience.
2. Cookies we use
NEXT_LOCALE: Essential cookie. Stores your language preference (Portuguese or English). Duration: 1 year. Without this cookie, the site would revert to the default language on every visit.
Cloudflare Turnstile: Security cookie used by the anti-bot verification component in the contact form. It is required to validate that the submission is made by a human and not a bot. Duration: session.
kodesto_ads_consent: Stores your answer to the advertising cookie banner. It is written whether you accept or decline, because without it the banner would reappear on every page. Duration: 6 months.
kodesto_gclid: Written only if you reached the site through a Google ad. It stores the click identifier so we can tell which ad led to an enquiry. It contains no name, email, or anything that identifies you. Duration: 90 days.
Google Ads cookies: Written only after you accept. See section 6.
3. How to manage cookies
For advertising cookies, use the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page. It reopens the choice and lets you change your answer at any time, at no cost and without giving a reason.
You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Instructions for major browsers: Chrome (Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies), Firefox (Preferences > Privacy & Security), Safari (Preferences > Privacy).
Blocking the NEXT_LOCALE cookie means the site will always load in the default language (Portuguese). Blocking Cloudflare Turnstile cookies may prevent the contact form from working correctly.
4. Third-party cookies
Cloudflare Turnstile, used in our contact form, may store its own cookies according to Cloudflare's privacy terms, available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Google Ads, when authorized by you, stores its own cookies according to Google's privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Website usage statistics
We use Umami, an analytics tool running on a server owned by Kodesto, to understand how people find and move through the site. No data from this tool is sent to Google, Meta, or any advertising platform.
Umami sets no cookies and assigns no permanent identifier to visitors. Your IP address is converted into an irreversible hash used only to tell visits apart within a single day, and is never stored.
We collect: pages visited, referring site, approximate country and city, device type, browser, language, and clicks on contact, WhatsApp, and social media buttons. None of this identifies you personally.
The legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest (Art. 7, IX, LGPD) in measuring and improving site performance. Since this tool involves no cookie and no personal identification, it does not depend on the consent banner, which covers only the advertising cookies described in section 6.
If you prefer not to be counted, enable "Do Not Track" or a script blocker in your browser.
6. Advertising cookies
Kodesto advertises on Google Ads. To know which ads produce real enquiries, and therefore stop paying for the ones that do not, we use Google's conversion tag on the site.
The legal basis here is your consent (Art. 7, I, LGPD), not legitimate interest. That is why we show a banner, and nothing related to advertising is stored before you answer it.
Until you accept, the tag runs in restricted mode (Google Consent Mode v2): it sets no cookie and creates no identifier. Google receives only an estimated count, with no data tied to you.
If you accept, Google cookies (the _gcl_ family) are stored, allowing your enquiry to be matched to the ad you clicked. This data is shared with Google LLC, which may process it outside Brazil.
If you decline, no advertising cookie is stored and the site keeps working normally. Declining limits no functionality.
You can change your mind at any time through the Cookie preferences link in the footer. Revoking returns consent immediately to the declined state.
7. Policy updates
This policy may be updated as we add new features to the site. The update date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
